1. Experienced candidate who has managed a EP Lab/Team; 2. Three to five years' experience as a EP Manager; 3. Competent with the two ablation systems; 4. Solid understanding of EP as whole which includes devices, EP studies, supplies needed, equipment operations, etc.; 5. Provide training to staff to improve competency; 6. Expectation of the candidate, if appropriate, will assume a permanent position; 7. Ability to work effectively with several Electrophysiologists; 8. Solid communication and leadership skills; 9. Working manager - in the labs.
General job duties. Types of procedures required.
A registered nurse or technologist who is responsible for the management of the EP Labs and supervision of the personnel assigned to that unit. Responsible for meeting the Heart Rhythm Society practice guidelines. Also responsible for management of human, fiscal, and other resources, development of personnel, and compliance with regulator and professional standards. The inventory, distribution/inventory of medications may be required.
Acts as a mediator in conflict situations. Often works under pressure of time and accuracy in organizing and accomplishing work. Prioritizes accomplishment of goals, objectives and ideas to meet the changing needs of the EP department. Demonstrates effective communication skills, oral and written.
Equipment utilized in the unit/dept.
EPIC, EPIC Cupid Module for recording case and as EMR. EP Meds for Stim, ESI for Mapping, Cryo Ablation, RF Ablation Phillips Echo for ICE. Phillips and GE Fixed C-Arms.
Required skills and minimum years of experience.
Must have enough previous experience to be able to educate and teach the staff. 3 years min in their field and within EP department. Previous supervisory/leadership experience.
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required.
RN - Active MD or compact state license. EP Tech - ARRT (RT). ACLS and BLS certifications required for either.
Shift or schedule requirements.
Employee is part of EP team and will deliver pt care as part of that team. M-F 7 to 3. Possible call every fourth weekend on Saturday 8a to noon.
Floating to other units/departments.
Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.
2 Labs, 3 Physicians performing ~100 cases per month (will probably increase)
Nurse to patient ratio of this unit.
8 dedectated EP staff with a mix of RN's and RT's . EP Supervisor wil be a working Supervisor.
